Let’s Talk Holsters…

Whether you’re male or female, tall, short, thin-there is a holster for you. One of the biggest difficulties of being a carry owner is finding the right fit. Something that’s comfortable and does exactly what you want and need it to do. Nothing that you will ever see online, television or magazines will prepare you for the struggles of finding “The One”.

Unfortunately, the coolest looking holsters with all the bells and whistles are usually so uncomfortable you will sacrifice your own personal happiness to impress everyone else other than yourself and we all have that drawer at home full of holsters that we wore once or twice. Mainly because we bought them with our eyes. So how does anyone decide what and how to carry? Then the dilemma of plastic or leather, cloth or Sticky material or the new Zero Bulk?! There are so many choices of style and material!

The position of how we carry is also endless- front draw, canted front draw, appendix carry, open carry 3,4,7 and 9 o’clock positions, concealed carry 3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9 o’clock positions, ankle carry, drop down carry, shoulder carry, pocket carry, flash bang bra carry, sneaky pete, etc. etc. The options are endless. If I missed your carry style, forgive me. Did I mention the Fanny pack carry option as well?! 😊

In order to find the right holster and fit, it’s essential to try on as many holsters as you possibly can before making that final decision. Sure, easier said than done. Especially with a good amount of us buying online these days.  The best thing to do is visit a local gun shop and see and touch a variety of holsters! Get others and tips and tricks and learn the common carry mistakes!

Better yet come down to HNR Gunworks today to try on a few- we will help you find “The One!” We can even make custom holsters to you and your gun!
